We are proud to announce that Chinasa U. Imo, Founder of ‘What About Rural Health?’ has been appointed to the Steering Committee of the World Health Organization (WHO) Civil Society Commission.
The WHO Civil Society Commission is a vital platform that brings together civil society organisations from around the world to strengthen collaboration with WHO, amplify grassroots voices, and co-create inclusive health policies that benefit all communities.
With her extensive experience in global health policy, governance systems, and advocacy for equitable healthcare, Chinasa’s appointment marks a significant step in advancing ‘What About Rural Health?’s mission to elevate rural health to the centre stage of global health discourse and rural health advocacy.
Speaking on the appointment, Chinasa shared:
“Real change in healthcare access begins when communities are part of the conversation. My vision for the CSO Commission is to move beyond consultation and bring the voices of rural and hard-to-reach communities to the table as we deliberate and shape global health agendas. I look forward to collaborating with fellow Steering Committee members and WHO partners to strengthen WHO civil society engagement in global health governance, shape responsive health systems, and ensure our collective voices drive meaningful, equitable change.”
This milestone reflects our unwavering dedication to bringing grassroots voices into global health decision-making and advancing the vision of equitable healthcare where every community matters.
